Arcade

Arcade is the most basic game mode in the game. You play a single match as any unlocked character against any unlocked opponent. Beating the first opponent gives you a 100 points. Beating any next opponent gives you 50 points.

Gameplay

In the Arcade game mode, you play single matches against an opponent. You select the character you play as with the left-hand catalogue. You select an opponent with the right-hand catalogue. You select a character by going up or down the catalogue or by clicking the "hero" button. In general, characters get better or stay of roughly the same quality as you go down the catalogue.

The first character you can play as is South Korea. The first opponent you can play against is also South Korea. Beating South Korea allows you to play against the next opponent, but only with the character that you used to beat South Korea. In general: beating an opponent with some character allows you to play against the next opponent, with that same character.

For example: beating South Korea with Spain allows you to play against the next opponent, Cameroon, with Spain. You have not yet beaten South Korea with USA, so USA cannot yet play against Cameroon. In turn, beating Cameroon with Spain allows you to play against the next opponent, Nigeria, with Spain, and so forth until you've beaten every opponent (with Spain).

Cost to play

It is free to play against all characters except Asura and Pluto. You pay 50,000 points and 20,000 points respectively to play against them. You can watch an ad to play against them for free for a single game. They are free to play against once you unlock them.

Achievements

In the Arcade game mode, you can get achievements against every player. There are currently 11 achievements. Achievements play a vital role in unlocking characters, even outside of the Arcade game mode.

1. Win without conceding a goal.
2. Win by more than 10 goals.
3. Win without using a Power Shot.
4. Win 10 times.
5. Win in a sudden death.
6. Win without using the dash button.
7. Win with 5 counter attacks.
8. Win without using the kick button.
9. Win without using the jump button.
10. Win without getting hurt

Character Unlocks

There are 14 characters that you unlock by doing something in the Arcade. Here are all of them:

1. Cameroon - Defeat 12 characters in the Arcade.
2. Argentina - Defeat 12 characters without using a Powershot.
3. Germany - Defeat 12 characters without conceding a goal.
4. France - Defeat 14 character in a Sudden Death.
5. Mexico - Defeat 17 characters with a 10 goal difference.
6. Turkey - Defeat 20 characters 10 times. (Try using different characters to not get bored.)
7. Asura - Defeat Asura in the Arcade with 5 achievements. (Win without conceding a goal, win by more than 10 goals, win without using a Power Shot, win 10 times and win in a sudden death.)
8. Valentine - Defeat 27 characters without dashing.
9. China - Defeat 30 characters with 5 counter attacks. (Italy is typically recommended.)
10. Luxembourg - Defeat 39 characters without kicking.
11. South Africa - Defeat 42 characters without jumping. (Nepal is typically recommended.)
12. Pluto - Defeat Pluto in the Arcade with 5 achievements. (Win without conceding a goal, win by more than 10 goals, win 10 times, win without using a Power Shot, win in a sudden death, win without using dash, win with 5 counter attacks, win without using kick and win without using jump.)
13. Serbia - Defeat 60 characters without getting hurt. (Ukraine is typically recommended)
14. Costa Rica - Defeat 80 characters with a living pet.
15. Algeria - Win with 10 achievements against Algeria with the character South Korea.

Star Ratings

In the Arcade game mode, every character is given a rating. These ratings go from 0/1 stars to 5/5 stars. The first character is rated 0/1 stars. The next is rated 1/1 stars. The characters that follow are rated: 1/2, 2/2, 2/3, 3/3, 3/4, 4/4, 4/5, 5/5. Every character that comes next is rated 5/5 stars. Most characters are five stars. Star ratings are supposed to give you an indication of the level of difficulty of the character. This measure is now seen as obsolete. See: Stars

Costumes

Some characters have standard costumes equipped when you play against them. Most of these costumes have special effects, making it harder to beat these characters.

Glitch

There is a glitch in the Arcade game mode. When you select Asura or Pluto, you will be asked if you want to spend 50,000 or 20,000 points respectively. While this message appears, click Upgrade/Costume, go back to character selection and swipe the arrows behind the pop-up until you get the match you wanted (This glitch was fixed in the Update 6.0). Now, with videos added in Update 4.1 (on some devices) you can play that match for free every 10 minutes.
